Ingredients :
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 small can of crushed peeled tomatoes
- 5 sheets of phyllo pastry
- 2 whole eggs
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp mild paprika
- melted butter, salt and pepper
Preparation :
- Sauté the ground meat and crushed tomatoes in a pan.
- Add one tsp each of cumin, cinnamon and mild paprika. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer over low heat until the tomato juice has completely evaporated.
- Leave to cool slightly and then add the whole eggs. Mix thoroughly.
- Spread a sheet of phyllo pastry on the work surface.
- Brush the entire surface of the phyllo pastry with melted butter.
- Cover with a second sheet of phyllo pastry. Brush again with melted butter. Repeat the operation to obtain a stack of five sheets of phyllo pastry.
- Place the meat stuffing in the centre of the sheets in an even sausage shape. Delicately roll the meat stuffing up in the phyllo sheets.
- Place the roll on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the surface one last time with melted butter.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C until the roll is golden brown and crispy.
- When the beef roll is fully cooked, remove it from the oven and slice it at a slant into regular segments. Serve hot.
