Born out of a subtle marriage of several aged Ports, the palate offers up dried fruit flavours with sweet notes. CRUZ Special Reserve Port complements the flavours and rich rounded character of foie gras surprisingly well.
To enhance your festive menu, CRUZ suggests serving your duck breast with 10-year-old CRUZ Port. This Port, made from a selection of the best vintages, unveils notes of walnuts, spices and candied fruit, making for an original and harmonious pairing with duck breast, perhaps roasted with honey.
The gastronomic journey continues with a pairing of CRUZ Vintage 1998 Port and a blue cheese. This vintage Port, with its remarkable bouquet and notes of juniper and sweet spices, works particularly well with the piquant flavours of a blue cheese such as Stilton or Roquefort.
Finally, dessert lovers will be won over by the combination of a CRUZ Colheita 1999 Port with an almond tart. Another vintage Port, this has wonderfully complex notes, a blend of honey, dried fruit and spices, which marry perfectly with the tart’s sweet flavours.
