Ageing
The various types of Port are prepared with distinct grape varieties and ageing processes.
These fortified wines are brought to the city of Vila Nova de Gaia to be aged. Each wine is selected for a specific ageing process in a cask, tun or bottle. The different ageing methods produce a wide range of styles and aromatic palettes. The taste varies according to the amount of time that the wine has been aged and the maturation method used.
